CVPR Summer School 2010

The Computer Vision and Pattern Recognition (CVPR) Summer School will be held in Kioloa, South Coast NSW, from the 19th to the 22nd January 2010.

To maximise the opportunities for scholarly exchange, the CVPR Summer School will be held as a set of short and long tutorials with sessions available for participating students to deliver short talks on their current research.A total of four long tutorials will be offered by renowned international and Australian researchers: Horst Bunke (University of Bern, Switzerland), Terry Caelli (NICTA, Australia), Richard Hartley (ANU, Australia) and Edwin Hancock (University of York, UK). We will seek short tutorials to be offered by Australian researchers of international standing.

The CVPR Summer School aims to bring together researchers and students whose main area of research is, or is expected to be, relevant to computer vision and pattern recognition. As a result, the school will provide a number of slots for research students to present their research so as to provide an Australian-based, international forum for the presentation and discussion of current trends and recent ideas and results from leading national and international scientists, and to foster scholarly exchange and future collaborations in the area. Priority will be given to students who are in their honours year and whose plans are to pursue further studies in areas akin to CVPR.

Thanks to the generous support of NICTA, those students from universities across Australia whose expression of interest is accepted and, hence, can attend the Summer School will be doing so free of registration charges.
